THE STORY

My lab is located in Bucchianico, a small village near Chieti, in the wonderful Abruzzi region. We are just 20 minutes away from the well-known Trabocchi coast and 30 minutes from the Maiella National Natural Park, where you can find amazing hiking trails.
I'm into pottery since I was 11 years old, when I started attending the Art Institute in Chieti and where I graduated lately. Then I moved to Faenza, which is very well-known for its pottery traditions and I took another certification as "Artistic Mastery".
After the educational path I started teaching pottery while working with some important pottery manufacturers. Beside that, I started working on my own, in my lab, that has always been a place dedicated to my personal research driven by art and craft, exploring the boundaries of this incredible material that is ceramic.
In all of my creations you can find expressive elements linked to traditions, architecture, art and design.
I really love to share my knowledge, that's why I often held hands-on workshop to teach the basics of pottery and how to decorate and cook ceramics, beside some classes on the Raku technique, an ancient Japanese method dated back to XVI century.

WORKSHOP

WORK WITH CERAMICS

This experience will begin with a brief introduction regarding the definition and classification of pottery items that will be followed by a focus on the materials and tools you will work with. After that, apprentices will get directly in touch with these materials and tools to realize a vase following one of these techniques: "a lucignolo" or "a colombino", "a lastre" or "a colaggio". Then we will try the moulding of a plate with the potter's wheel. For lunch you will be my guest and I will let you taste a traditional dish from Abruzzi. In the afternoon we will realize an object with the Raku technique, and once glazed and cooked, you'll be ready to bring it home with you.
