THE STORY

In our workshop we produce scagliola artifacts, which are furnishing elements of traditional or modern inspiration, according to the most genuine craftsmanship. The experience, the creativity, the ability to design, the technique, the refined elegance of the decorations and the harmonious and balanced choice of colors, in addition to the meticulous execution, make our works such unique pieces, facts of an art that has been preserved to this days.
We create tables, panels, frames, gift items and various inlaid furnishing elements through the ancient technique of scagliola.
Our family is also dedicated to the restoration of antique pieces, our goal is to manage the artist's inspiration from the past and make a perfect refurbishment. The workshop, which was opened in the 60's, is located in the industrial area of Pontassieve, 15 km from Florence. Among our clients we can include the British Royal Family, Gianni Versace, the Sultan of Brunei, Luciano Pavarotti, Robert de Balkany and many others.
During the visit we'll tell you the ancient history of this fascinating work and how our father has rediscovered, many years ago, a forgotten art. You will see colors, tools and designs that recall the past, which are used by the master craftsman, who gives birth to a unique piece in the world, starting from a simple mineral powder.
You will also admire the extraordinary pieces of our collection, which gather together the seventeenth century to the nineteenth century Florentine manufacture, and some paintings of German production.

SCAGLIOLA, BETWEEN ILLUSION AND REALITY

Elisabetta & Alessandro, scagliola

60

We will tell you about the history and the state of art of this ancient, and somehow "lost" craft, showing you some secrets and some stylistic and technical aspects. Starting from a "simple mineral dust", with a practical exhibition we will took you back in time, when the ability and skills of the craftsman began with the preparation of the tools, the sketches and the color pigments. The realized artwork remains yours. Finally we will discuss together about the most important existing collection, with the practical support of some antique pieces, dating from the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries, collected with great passion by our family.
