Not many people know how to make a hat, which are the steps to get to the final product, creating it by hand, with the help of a few tools, an object that will be appreciated by those who recognize the true craftsmanship.
We will show you the whole process, from the wooden shape to the finished hat.
The experience will last about one hour.
Visits are also available during the weekends and it's possible to arrange a different starting time.
Also, if you want some special schedule you are more than welcome, so drop us a line with your request.

YOUR CUSTOM-MADE HAT
Renato, milliner
The workshop includes a short presentation of the work of the milliner and hatmaker, in which the different spaces of the atelier are shown, and the different activities that are carried out there. Then we move on to the making phase, which is organized as follows: 1 hour of preparing the hat shape (possible materials: sisal, straw or felt) from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.; lunch break circa 2 hours, and then from 2 to 5 p.m. we will work to finish and decorate the hat made previously. This particular type of craftsmanship involves fixing the hat shape in a kind of oven. This procedure requires a break time between the first stage of work and the next one, during which the work will be refined and finished.

GOLDSMITHING AND WEAVING
Negar, goldsmith
Goldsmithing and weaving are two of the oldest forms of craftsmanship in the history of Man: combining these two arts in one "discipline" let you to create jewelry that are truly striking. During the tour you can discover the various forms that the texture of a fine thread of silver can take: tubular, modular and regular shapes that are so close to perfection, or some more organic and irregular creations that have a more human “touch”. In our showroom you can see and touch the jewelry collections Aracne and Atena (it is no coincidence that they are referred to the the greek myth) where these "paintings" are transformed into earrings, rings and necklaces. Later, visitors will enter the lab where they will see in practice how to create the silver wire and how it is woven.

LEARN ABOUT THE INLAY CRAFT
Renato, inlayer
During this 2 hours visit inside the old workshop, you will learn about the intaglio carving craft, appreciating especially the technique commonly known as "foro-controforo". You will participate in a practical demonstration during which all the various traditional stages of production will be displayed: we will start with the preparation of woods before going through the cut stage carried out with a small arch, then we will proceed with the assembly and sandblasting just before the glueing and then finish with the French polishing. Moreover, we will discuss about other inlay techniques such as the so-called "a toppo" and "a buio".
