For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been attracted and fascinated by this precious material that is glass. When I was a child I used to stare at the churches’ rose windows or the crystal ball with something trapped inside. It seems like we had chosen each other!
I started approaching this art soon after the graduation, first attending glass walls restoration’s courses and then specialization classes of blown glass in Edinburgh and Murano. It’s been exactly during my long stay in Edinburgh that I had the opportunity to get in touch with important artists with whom I have collaborate over the years.
Once I felt confident of the knowledge acquired in past years, I decided to open my own studio in North Rome, a lab focused on handcrafted recycled glass and experimental techniques of blown glass. Beside the small collection I produce, I also give courses for children and adults on glass recycling and artistic production here in my workshop.
I do not consider my work as such, I love nature, the sun and the moon, the water and the air, earth and fire, all the natural elements that can lead me to an almost "wild" life, which allow me to get in touch with the true essence of human being.
My lab, therefore, could only be immersed in nature, and more precisely in the countryside near Rome, where I find my perfect balance in direct contact with wild herbs and natural sounds, far away from the city chaos.
I love this craft because it has something magical, it is a continuous transformation that can give new life to an old bottle through fire, water, concentration and sweat.
My mission is to awaken the modern human from consumerism numbness, exploring different lifestyles that follow the natural cycles and recycles. The glass, with its characteristics and with its amazing and harmonious ability of metamorphosis, is the element that encompasses, better than others, this incredible ability to adapt and rebirth.
