HOW THE EXPERIENCE WILL BE

Basic weaving course with a 4-heald loom. In my workshop I will teach you the use of the loom and provide you with locally produced pure wool yarn from native Lamon sheep. It will be 12 hours divided into one day (9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.) with a lunch break and on the second day 4 hours in the morning (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.). I'll start explaining how the loom works, and after that I will show you the preparation of the warp (and you'll do the same on your loom) and finally we'll settle the various threads of the same warp on the loom. At this point we'll be ready to start with the weaving itself. You will also learn how to solve the different problems that weaving can present.
You will produce a beautiful handmade fabric that you can take home!
Lamon is a very nice mountain place where you can relax taking beautiful walks, so if the village will be too far to reach in one day, there will be the possibility to rely on a local hotel at a convenient price.

SOME TIPS

The cost is for the course for one person, from 2 to 5 people the cost is lower, send me a tailor-made request via the appropriate button. The same if you have special requests on the type of artifact you want to make and also for hotel information.

WORKSHOP

GLASS FUSION IN THE NATURE

Maya & Denis, glazier

72

Our lab is located in a small town in the heart of the Belluno’s Dolomites. Here, lost in the green and inspired every day by nature, we give life and shape to our ideas. With this hands-on workshop we want to share our skills and knowledge and we want to give the opportunity to anyone who is interested in discovering the world of glass’ art; specifically, you will make an artifact in glass fusion of approximately 15cm x 15cm that can be used as a decorative addition to your home. The object, after a 24 hours cooking time in the oven, will be sent to your address or you can take it directly in our laboratory in the days after the experience. The costs of packaging are included in the price of the hands-on workshop.

WORKSHOP

MAKE YOUR OWN FELT HAT AND SILK SCARF

Lucia, felt maker

240

During the experience, the artisan will explain the various stages of wool processing, starting with the production of sheep's wool by small local farmers in Valsugana. In particular, the processing of carded wool and the subsequent transformation into felt will be proposed. The artisan will explain the path of raw wool from washing to carding using a special tool. After a short break with an organic snack you will go on with the design and construction of a personalized felt hat or alternatively a felt seat / seat cover, suitable for all seasons and all uses. You can choose your favorite hat model and add decorations with various colors wools, that can also be used for the seat cover. The workshop also includes ecoprint dyeing of 1 silk scarf. All items made will remain with the participants.
