Goldsmithing and weaving are two of the oldest forms of craftsmanship in the history of Man: combining these two arts in one "discipline" let you to create jewelry that are truly striking.
During the tour you can discover the various forms that the texture of a fine thread of silver can take: tubular, modular and regular shapes that are so close to perfection, or some more organic and irregular creations that have a more human “touch”. In our showroom you can see and touch the jewelry collections Aracne and Atena (it is no coincidence that they are referred to the the greek myth) where these "paintings" are transformed into earrings, rings and necklaces.
Later, visitors will enter the lab where they will see in practice how to create the silver wire and how it is woven.Once you understand the basics of this art, each participant will start using the tools and the mess.
Participants will be invited to create a jewel with the net created under our guidance, so that you can bring it home as a souvenir of the experience!
The workshop starts for a minimum of 2 people.
I suggest you to wear some comfortable clothes, no light colors and big bags if possible!

Negar, goldsmith
The workshop starts for a minimum of 2 partecipants. During the experience in my showroom I will tell you about the burin engraving applied to goldsmith craft, we will have a brief conversation on this special technique from the traditional Florentine goldsmith culture to the contemporary usage. You will watch, touch and observe the jewels engraved following different techniques. Then we will move to my lab where I'll show you the manufacturing stages, the preparation of metallic sheet, the description of different types of burin and their usage, how to deal with some of my equipment. Of course I will also have a brief exhibition so that you will better understand the different kind of engraving. GILDING ON WOOD
Stefania & Carlo, restorers
We will work together for about one hour, depending on the number of participants. We will begin with a brief introduction to the art of gilding, in which we will introduce you to the materials and decorative techniques by which you can understand the historical placements of the object. We will explain how gouache and mission gilding works and give some hints about the techniques of restoration of gilded and lacquered wooden works. For the practical part, you will get to try mission gilding of a small wooden object of Florentine manufacture and its subsequent aging. The wooden object provided by the school for rehearsal will be given to you free of charge as a memento of your visit.
