Villa Foscarini Rossi Shoe Museum is located inside a seventeenth-century stately home along the Brenta river. On an area of 700 m² it hosts a collection of over 1.500 luxury women’s shoes, all manufactured by the Rossimoda footwear factory over a period of 70 years in collaboration with the most prestigious brands of the international scene. The Museum, opened in 1995, aims to testify the territory expertise, to disseminate the knowledge of the historical footwear district tradition and to prove the development of costume and fashion history during the second half of the 20th century through the footwear accessory. Furthermore, the 17.500 models of the digital photographic archive are an efficient backing and a continued source of inspiration for the companies of the territory during their constant research activities. The passing tourist, thrilled by the harmony, the creativity and the craftsmanship which distinguish the Made in Italy product, recognize these values also in the historical building architectures and in the perspectival tricks of the Foresteria astonishing frescos.
