HOW THE EXPERIENCE WILL BE

Creativity and dexterity are concepts that should be encouraged from an early age. This hands-on workshop is designed as a sensorial itinerary for children, even at they first experience with woodworking. The meeting will begin with an interactive explanation of the various tools, we will hear the noise they make and try them, we will touch and smell the different types of wood to learn the differences in accordance with a game to know and recognize. After this brief introduction, the kids will be ready to put the "hands-on". Depending on the available materials in the laboratory, the "young carpenter" will create an object, which will always be different from time to time so that they can also have a wow effect at the end of the activity.

SOME TIPS

Wear comfortable clothes, sneakers and come here to have some fun!

WOOD STRATIFICATION

Paolo, joiner

Do you know which is the link between a longboard, a pair of sunglasses and the framework of a bike? For us, the connection is in the technique of construction. All of our products are made following the technique of wood stratification that allows us to gather the different essences of wood. During this visit we will tell you our experience, the challenge we have undertaken in exploring this specific method, and the magic behind the way we work.

SPECIAL

VALTELLINA...IN A BITE!

Maurizio, joiner

276

A full-day experience side by side with the young artisan of wood in the amazing scenario of Valtellina. You will realize a "RJR" chair (the official chair of Expo 2015) made of chestnut and/or oak wood, recovered from vintage wine barrels. For the lunch break you will taste the real flavor of the traditional Valtellina's food, in a restaurant with a special view, just a walk outside the lab. The adventure will continue in a local wine cellar where you will learn about the famous Sf├╝rzat, a typical wine of the area. After that we will get back to the lab to finish our work, so that you can bring your chair home at the end of the day.
