THE STORY

I compose art books, I paint watercolors on impalpable handmade cards, with threads, tapes and plots of cards, I practice the art of calligraphy. I work with paper, I fold it, decorate it, print it and I use it to create hand stitched notebooks, or I bind notebooks with some paper and thread.
I engrave images on wood and metals and then I print them with the printing press or following Japanese techniques!
I collect leaves and flowers in my garden in Venice and during all my travels, in different places, cities, forests, meadows, gardens, along the roads.
I practice the art of calligraphy on these fragile works that tell stories of “silent creatures” that are so important to all of us since they give us breathing air and the soil that feeds us.

EXPERIENCES WITH ANITA

WORKSHOP

ENGRAVE AND PRINT POSTCARDS

Anita, engraver

84

This hands-on workshop is structured in this way: in the afternoon we will start the activity engraving a simple sketch on wood or linoleum, so that you will understand the basic of this craft. After the lunch break we will continue the activity trying to print some postcards with press or manually by hands following a Japanese technique. You will then create some small photo-frames made with paper or cardboards or, if you prefer, a small notebook with the cover printed before, so that you will have a souvenir to bring home!

CREATE YOUR OWN STAMP

Anita, engraver

42

The creation of your own stamp begins with the definition of a logo. After that we'll etch on a linoleum board (cm10x10, will be provided by the artisan) the chosen drawing. In the first part of the workshop we'll define the drawing and we'll start the etching.we'll conclude the definition of the stamp. Later we'll do some printing trials on different types of papers, handmade papers, card-boards, fabrics and plastic materials. Each participant will bring home his own stamp to be used on his own letterhead, on letters and envelopes!

ORIGAMI AND FOLDING PAPER

Anita, engraver

48

Paper is a strong and versatile material if manufactured the right way. It can be made into many objects by folding it: flowers, animals, stars, design objects like lamps and containers. With some small paper pieces you can fill a room with coloured flowers, birds and butterflies. If you are patient enough you can make beautiful decorations from simple paper sheets. Origami come from the Japanese tradition of folding paper to make magic out of it! Please note: the experience lasts 1 hour, you can choose your preferred time by agreeing with the artisan
